Never evers, walkers and experienced runners: join Team Perseverance for our 5th year together!
If you have always wanted to complete a 5K but never thought you could, this is for you. If you are already a runner and want to run in community with others, this is for you (5K and 10K training options). Walkers are also encouraged and will follow the 5K training plan. Most importantly, we seek to understand the parallels between a sport like running and our faith! Invite friends and family to join you. All ages and abilities welcome; children under 12 must run with a participating adult.
Family Fun Night

Hope Poverty Simulation
May 2 | 5:30-8:00 pm | Wayzata Free
In the face of overwhelming global need, it’s easy to feel paralyzed. As believers, we know we’re called to act, but what do we do? You are invited to take a first step by symbolically slipping into the shoes of men and women living in poverty to gain a greater understanding of what it’s like from the inside. The Hope Poverty Simulation is a 2 1/2-hour, immersive, experiential learning opportunity designed to help participants symbolically experience the realities of a lifetime spent living in poverty. Over the course of the simulation, you will be confronted with a series of challenges that mimic the complex, everyday realities that men and women living in poverty are forced to grapple with. This experience will benefit anyone interested in learning more about engaging in global poverty. Please wear clothing suitable for sitting on the ground and closed-toe shoes. Appropriate for ages 14+. Contact George at email@example.com with questions.
Drive Thru Prayer
May 3 | 7:00 am-7:00 pm
Over 10,000 cars drive by Wayzata Free every day. On the National Day of Prayer we will again host a Prayer Drive Thru in our parking lot. The concept is very simple: offer the love of Jesus to people through prayer. People of all ages and faiths (or no religious affiliation at all) stop by to be prayed for in such settings. What a simple, yet effective way to reach out to our community with the love, grace and power of Jesus!
We need people to help pray, direct traffic in our parking lot, hold signs, or offer water and coffee. Please consider helping with one or more shifts. Click here to sign up or contact our Worship & Prayer Director, Andrea Hebeisen, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 763.473.9463.
Parents' Night Out
May 4 | 5:30-9:30 pm | Wayzata Free | kids (1 year olds-5th grade)
Don't miss this event where parents can have a night out while their kids have an awesome night in at church! Kids will enjoy games, craft, snack, and a movie! The High School Haiti mission trip team will volunteer that night, along with other students and adults. There is no cost but free will donations will help cover expenses of the Haiti trip. Contact email@example.com with questions.
+ Pre-registration preferred but walk-ins are welcome!
+ No dinner will be served but a snack will be provided.
+ If you are willing to help that evening, please sign up to volunteer.
Celebration Sunday and Open House
May 20 | 10:00 am-1:30 pm
Don't miss this special Sunday! We will have one service (10:00 am-11:00 am) celebrating how God has blessed Wayzata Free and the community through the hard work of many, many people investing their time and gifts into a beautiful building. We are inviting city officials, construction teams, architect teams and police officers from our community.
Following the service (11:00 am-1:30 pm) we will open our whole church building and grounds for indoor and outdoor activities including food trucks and ice cream!
Sunday, June 3 | 9:00 am-12:00 pm | click here to register
SERVE Day is an amazing opportunity to bless others and be blessed. Hundreds will go out into our communities and show the love of Christ in real and tangible ways. Join us in imagining a church that does whatever it takes to serve the West Metro in the name of Jesus.
