Middle School

Middle school can be a great time of life. Especially when fun is combined with living for Christ. Our goal is to help students become followers of Christ, resulting in changed lives.

Save the Date | Grill Out | May 13 | 6:30-8:30 pm

Every year we end the year with a cookout in the back lot at church. We will also be recognizing our 8th graders that night that are moving up to high school. We will once again provide the meat, buns, and condiments. Bring a beverage, dessert and/or side dish to share. We will grill, hang out and welcome the warm weather together! Since it is Mother's Day, make sure you spend quality time with MOM. If you cannot come to the grill out because you need to spend that time with your family, that's okay!

AWOL | July 15-20

AWOL (A Work Of Love) is our summer missions experience at Maple Hill Estates, a mobile home community in Corcoran, MN. Each year we live on site in campers and put on a morning VBS, spend the afternoon playing with kids from the community and then in the evenings we head off site with the older kids from the community for a fun event as a part of our ESCAPE program of peer outreach. AWOL training day is MANDATORY and is MONDAY, July 9th. Students must apply to be a part of this team. Click here to register.

Sunday Mornings

The Foundry class | 9:00 am | C-103

The Foundry is a two-year class designed to move students to being fully engaged as participants in the church at large. Currently we are working our way though a study of the Old Testament. Even if you have never attended The FOUNDRY you are welcome to join us! Also, if you would like to check out our page with a list of passages that we are looking at each week to get a flavor of what we are doing, click hereFor more information, contact Bruce Droogsma at bruce.droogsma@wayzatafree.org or click here to sign up.

Donuts | 10:15 am | C-103

Every Sunday the students in 6th-12th grades are welcomed to C-103 starting at 10:15 am for donuts. This is a time between services for us to connect, laugh and enjoy being together before students head off to serve or attend the service together in the student section.

Students may also serve in Club Corps (2nd hour) or throughout church. Contact Sara at sara.galligan@wayzatafree.org for more information on Club Corps.

Sunday Nights

Youth Group | 6:30-8:30 pm | Fellowship Hall

Middle School Youth Group is a time where we focus on community building through games, worship and teaching with an emphasis on small groups. Bruce and a team of excellent volunteer leaders love to build relationships with middle school students and invest in their lives. This year we are re-vamping our program and adding to our time-frame to better serve the students of WFC. We hope that you can join us!

6:30-7:00 | games (middle school and high school separate)

7:00-7:30 | worship time led by youth worship team (middle school and high school combined)

7:30-8:30 | teaching and small group time (middle school and high school separate, and small groups based on grade and gender)

Current series | Into The Wild

Sometimes God calls us to take a step of faith—a step out into the wild. We don’t know where He’s leading, but we know He’s asking us to trust and follow Him. From April 22 through May 6 Middle School will be doing a series called Into the Wild, we’ll look at how Abraham followed God’s call into the wild and discover that we can find the courage to do the same.

Wednesday Nights

wednesdays@wayzata offer a lot of programming options starting with a meal together. We offer adult classes, kid's classes, youth worship rehearsal, IMMERSE (a small group designed for High School students) and more! Middle School students have the opportunity to serve in many of these areas (especially kid's ministry) and can contact Bruce at bruce.droogsma@wayzatafree.org for more information.

Youth Worship Team

We are looking for students interested in being involved with the Youth Worship Team. We're looking for musicians, students for our Tech Team or creative minds that would like to help with the worship planning. Worship rehearsals are Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 pm. Whether you have been involved in the past or are interested in joining the team for the first time, please contact Shannon Bry at shannon.bry@gmail.com and let her know what you are interested in!
