252 Kids is a large group/small group style program. It is designed to provoke discovery and invite kids into a new understanding of how to grow in relationship with Jesus. Throughout the time elementary kids spend in 252 Kids, we will cover 150 key Bible stories, focus on four faith skills and cover and review 30 themes (practical applications of God's Truth). Every lesson and resource we offer helps kids discover who Jesus is and then shows them how to put their faith into practical action. 252 Kids is dedicated to helping kids grow in wisdom, faith and friendship.

Everything we teach in 252 Kids is based on one of three basic but powerful truths modeled by Jesus in Luke 2:52.

+ I need to make the wise choice

+ I can trust God no matter what

+ I should treat others the way I want to be treated

BIRTH-PRE-K

Our Sunday preschool classes begin at age 2, or when kids are ready for more structure. We offer fun, Bible-based programs where kids discover God's love, using a unique curriculum called "First Look."

  • Preschool Green | 101 (kids who are at least 2 years old)
  • Preschool Red | 102 (kids who are 3 years old by December 31, 2019)
  • Preschool Yellow | 104 (kids who are beginning Kindergarten in fall 2020)

“First Look” is designed to give preschoolers their first impression of their loving heavenly Father. This program uses learning centers, activities, games, music and crafts to teach kids about God's Word. Our focus is to help a child by age 5, to believe: God made me, God loves me, Jesus wants to be my friend forever

“First Look” truly are experts in area of "take home" options for your family. About once a month we have parent cue cards for you to help you engage in what your kids are learning in their preschool classrooms on Sunday. You can also check out their Parent Cue app available at the Apple App Store or Android Market!

Minneapolis | Relief and Rebuilding

As we struggle through the pain and heartbreak of systemic racism it is important that we confront that in a tangible and life changing way. Transform Minnesota is a ministry partner and the president, Carl Nelson, has stated this well:

“It is vital to remember that the Church is not simply called to show up and fix something painful and uncomfortable with the hopes of returning to normal. The Church is called to put to death the underlying ideological issues behind systemic racism and to understand their continued and devastating impact on our brothers and sisters. This requires investment, commitment, and building long term relationships.”

We will be partnering with Transform Minnesota and Source as they help mobilize relief and rebuilding efforts in Minneapolis. Transform Minnesota’s pursuit of racial harmony is rooted in Gospel truths of reconciliation and justice, striving to come together in the Kingdom of God. Source serves peoples needs and provides a voice that communicates God's love and forgiveness.

Our desire is to proclaim hope and unity. We know that by working together, greater impact can occur to overcome disparities, tension, and misconceptions to promote the Gospel.

Making Space for god (fasting)

January 10-31

Join us for 21 days to seek God’s heart. We want to make space for God by eliminating and reducing things that distract and consume. There are three ways you can participate.

1. Food Fast: Eliminate or reduce sweets, carbs, alcohol, or whatever you choose.

2. Negativity Fast: Eliminate or reduce sources of negativity that cause strife and division.

3. Digital Fast: Eliminate or reduce digital sources that consume our time and selves.

The goal in each of these is to make space and give attention to God so that you can sense His desires and hear His voice. You can choose one of these for three weeks (21 days) or a different one each week. We are excited to see how the Lord speaks and leads us.

Giving tree

choosing gratitude

In a time where life seems especially challenging, it’s easy to focus on what’s going wrong. By intentionally choosing a practice of gratitude, individually and corporately, we have an opportunity to be encouraged and focus more fully on what is always right...God’s promises and faithfulness.

Click HERE for our "Choosing Gratitude" resource guide. We hope you'll share with us how you experience God during this journey.

AWARENESS AND ACTION

At Wayzata Free, we want to be a place to have tough and uncomfortable conversations where we can share honestly and openly. We, the Church, need to model conversation – how to listen, seek to understand and learn respectfully from one another even if we disagree. Our hope is that this is more than just a conversation. We don’t want this to be merely ‘talk’ but a conversation that drives awareness and action.

Click below for a resource list for learning opportunities and ways you can serve.

Conversations podcast

At Wayzata Free, we want to be a place to grow together and have interactive and sometimes tough and uncomfortable conversations where we can share honestly and openly. We, the Church, need to model conversation – how to listen, seek to understand and learn respectfully from one another even if we disagree. We don’t want this to be merely ‘talk’ but that this conversation drives awareness and action.

Conversations may focus on a relevant topic, a biblical truth, seeing God work or walking alongside one another. Whatever the conversations, we want to do that together and allow God to change lives in exciting ways. Thanks for joining in on the conversation.
